The WWE and Yahoo announced on April 29 that they are joining forces for online programming. According to PWInsider.com, the WWE brought out The Big Show and Stephanie McMahon for the big announcement.
The online programming, added to the new WWE Diva's show on E! TV, makes it look like the long awaited WWE Network might be in further trouble. The WWE Network was supposed to debut last year as a pay network with all WWE programming, including original shows and classic events. However, the WWE Network was delayed and WWE began a contract with YouTube for a variety of shows.
Many of the YouTube shows have come to an end, and the WWE let the contract come to an end with no renewal. It looks like the WWE has chosen to partner with Yahoo over the Google owned YouTube.
According to the WWE Yahoo announcement, there will be a live-pre show for every WWE event, which likely will replace the same one that appeared on YouTube, as well as historical clips, TV highlights, interviews and more. The WWE Yahoo partnership will begin in the summer of 2013.
