Bikini Championship Wrestling champion Mia Thooks (pronounced "meat hooks") has an unusual request for independent wrestling fans. Popcorn for Poppins.
“That two-faced wreck will never be the same after our match at Cooters,” said Mia Thooks, who is defending her BCW title against Poppins at the Jan. 26 Cooters event.
Her “Popcorn for Poppins” message refers to the fact that the 96 lb Mary Poppins is already eight months pregnant and ready to "pop" at any time. Mia Thooks promises to perform her signature finishing move, the devastating Kwanzaa Drop on Poppins which she claims will "pop" Poppins' baby right out of her. Mia Thooks is requesting fans to purchase plenty of popcorn to throw into the ring at Poppins during their match to intimidate and humiliate Poppins prior to the "popping".
Mia Thooks likens Poppins’ chances at this year’s Cooters Championship to those of an egg chained to a steel ball and fired out of an airplane from an old pirates cannon and into a sea of hand grenades filled with jagged glass shards 50,000 feet below.
“This biatch has been following me around like a lost puppy dog trying to get herself another title shot. How many times do I have to beat her senseless before she gets the message? I promise, after this match, they will call my finisher the Kwanzaa POP,” said Mia Thooks, the self-styled Amazonian Giant of female wrestling, tipping the scales just shy of 320 pounds.
Poppins, for her part, is well aware that the match at Cooters could be a “career-ending match.”
“All it’s going to take is one thing to go wrong, for Mia Thooks to land one of her signature moves, and, I mean, this very well could possibly end my career and put me on the road to premature parenting,” Mary Poppins said.
“This girl, Mary Poppins, better read up on Dr. Spock. Because she’s about to need it real soon,” Mia Thooks said.
Bikini Championship Wrestling's Cooters Championship is coming to Brown Mackie Ballroom on Saturday, and the card includes some of the biggest names in the sport, names such as "Ravishing Rhonda Rhodes", Lady Rabies and "Nasty Linda Dallas."
With stars like these, you've got to know that this isn't an all-ages event: Audience members 18 and older only, please! And that's the only time you'll hear anyone from Bikini Championship Wrestling say "please," because, according to federation spokesman Lucas Skyryder, these wrestlers wear half the clothing and bring twice the violence. This is old-school hard-core wrestling with body slams and ball bats."
The two-hour event takes place in a ring that's pre-coated with 100% recycled vegetable oil salvaged from area seafood restaurants. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; 8 p.m. bell. Tickets range from $15 to $25.
